Jean McGianni Celestin is an award-winning creator. He is the writer of the groundbreaking motion picture, The Birth of a Nation, winner of the 2016 Sundance Film Festival and African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for Best Diaspora Feature Film of the year. His work has appeared in print and on screen, and has been featured across television, radio, and podcasts. 

Celestin is a former college wrestler at Penn State University and was initiated into Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
