Jean McGianni Celestin is an award-winning creator whose work focuses on the intersection of race and culture. He is the writer of the groundbreaking motion picture, The Birth of a Nation, winner of the 2016 Sundance Film Festival U.S. Audience Award and Grand Jury Prize, and selected by the African Movie Academy Awards (AMAA) for Best Diaspora Feature Film. 

His writings have appeared in The Root, Bleacher Report, The Haitian Times, and other publications. Celestin is a former Division 1 college wrestler at Penn State University and a member of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc.
